Describe yourself in under 100 words :

I am a chick who loves adventure, scorns conventional norms and seeks integrity and love. I believe in the philosophy “I am third.” Spiritual Community of the greater good comes first, family and friends second and I always come third. I try and look good but am plagued by insecurities of a modern woman.

Why did you decide to participate in the RAW photo shoot?

I decided to participate because I believe that woman are set to a standard that is not of their own making. We need to constantly try and unweave the stains of patriarchy that imbrues our definition of aesthetic and success.

What surprised you most about the experience?

I look at myself as a confident women but I was NOT confident in front of a camera. I felt narcissistic and like I should not be there, as if a false reality was asked for me and I was putting my face out there that nobody wanted to see.

What is your definition of ‘beautiful’?

Beautiful is kindness and flaws.

Have you ever felt like you weren’t beautiful?  If yes, when does this feeling usually come up?

Of course. It usually comes up when I have not slept and all my cracks and flaws come out on my face and I feel like I am barely keeping up with all the beautiful women around me.

What things (if any) are you most insecure about?

My arms. The hair on my head and the hair that is growing in places it shouldn’t as I get older.

I think most of us can relate with that last part!  Let’s focus on the positives. When do you feel most beautiful?

Naked without makeup on and my hair is down and I am in front of someone that I know truly loves me and does not judge me.

Has your appearance ever held you back in life or conversely helped you?

Unfortunately I think it has helped me and held me back. I have super big boobs and while it has helped open doors that would normally be closed to me, once I enter that space, people doubt my intelligence and focus on my looks. I still am trying to figure out how to undo that.

What part of aging scares you the most?

Being alone. Loosing the looks that I use as a shield.

What part of aging is the most exciting?

Letting go of all the bullshit and building a foundation.

On average how much do you spend each month on cosmetic items such as make-up, hair cuts/colouring, waxing, clothing, nails, tanning, creams etc.

$100 to $500

Have you ever had cosmetic surgery or treatments?  Why or why not?

No. I don’t believe in anything fake.

Who is the most beautiful woman in the world to you and why?

The common woman. I couldn’t name just one, I see so many beautiful faces each day and it is always the ones that don’t know how beautiful they truly are that affect me. I like the imperfect.

If you woke up every morning feeling confident, content and proud of your natural appearance (before putting on make-up, doing your hair, getting dressed etc.) how would your world be different?

I would have a lot more time in my day. I wouldn’t judge myself so harshly and have my looks and insecurities dictate what I would do that day. I would not be so reliant on men to prove my self worth. I would go for guys that are probably a lot better than the ones I do now. My heart and mind would not feel so heavy and I wouldn’t have to talk myself out of my unrealistic view of myself each day.
