Tell us about yourself in under 100 words.

Caring, thoughtful, and always emotionally invested. Ambitious, driven, and sometimes embarrassingly outspoken. I love hip-hop, R&B, and soul. Passionate about social justice, sports, and their intersections.

If you were talking on the phone to someone you had never met how would you describe your appearance?

Tall and skinny with dark brown skin and dark brown eyes.

Have you ever struggled with a lack of confidence or insecurities?

I was blissfully ignorant about the colorism that is so prevalent in the African-American community until I started to get made fun of for my skin tone in high school. This sparked extreme insecurities about how others perceived me, which affected me in more ways than I could possibly count at the time.

When do you feel most beautiful?

When I look back at everything I have been through and see all that I have accomplished.

What are your “Not Enough” feelings?

My “not enough” feelings arise when I feel that I am “too much” – whether too dark, too tall, or too different, all which can make me feel that I am not “normal” enough.

If you were given the option to change your appearance would you? If yes, what would you change?

No.

What are 5 things you love about yourself?

My body, my eyes, my personality, my strong-will, and my persistence.

I say cellulite, you think:

Genetics!

What is your message to other women out there?

Embrace yourself and others will embrace you!
